Cochlear Implant Evaluation

Dec 14, 2010 16:24

I just spent most of the day at the hospital where I had an evaluation to see if I'd be a candidate for a cochlear implant in my left ear. The good news is that seems I am. I got some more information on the implant and the surgery, talked to the surgeon (had to wait almost two hours to talk to him for two minutes), then had a CT Scan. I didn't schedule the surgery yet as I'd like for the hospital to get confirmation on coverage from the insurance company first. Anyway, I could be getting an implant sometime early next year perhaps as early as January.

The main bad news is that with the time off I'll probably be needing for this, there's a strong chance I might not make it to Reno in August. I'll have to see.
