Is this the most important blog so far this year for me?
Yep... a blog.. and what a blog.
This week:
Two fires, too many taxi cabs, one two many goodbyes, two great bands, too much to drink, two kisses,
and one breif reunion... with a twist.
This blog will be cooler if i tell you of last night first, then friday night second.
So Yesterday, Adrian caught up with me, and we went off to see TMNT, which we love so much. We went on a hunt for a megaphone and saw my boss get his head shaved.
Then i went off to DV8 for Motion 19, they're getting heaps better.
Afterwards, missions to the Switch. Was fun, got kissed there again (somehow tho these girls just kiss and don't seem to want more after that.. i dunno...).
That was saturday night..
Friday Night
Begins in the afternoon.
I get my night planned, meeting mel before i go to see INXS, then i head off to see Jess for her going away. This is pretty straight forward, i leave at like 2pm, get into the city and get to see Mel.
Meet her at Bimbo's, Courtney is there, its hot, its a great day outside.
Unknown to me, the Burnley tunnel is out, due to the tragic fire caused by the crash in there.
We leave to head to moonee ponds, i said a taxi would be the best way, i was a little wrong. Traffic was hell because the Burnley tunnel was out of action, but we eventually get there, have a few beers, quiz mel on her glamour pics, and before too long im heading off to INXS.
I walked into Mel's place, sunshine, warm.
When i left.. Melbourne weather strikes, Cold, AND RAINING!
This is only the begining..
Trams going to St Kilda weren't taking passengers.
fucked up. it's raining. im trying to get to INXS.
So more taxi action to St Kilda, get dropped off at Pailais theatre.
For all the time i was outside, i did a a freaking good job at keeping fairly dry.
Simple Minds were the support, and boy i was happy to see them.
INXS Came out....
After all the fuss with the tickets, being 5 rows from the front.. I was a fucking happy camper.
They were SO much better this time around, SO worth going to see, and i WILL see them again, and again, and again!
JD Fortune, he just does his own thing, he doesn't try to be Michael, and for that i really love him as the lead singer.
The rest of the band, they're just so inspiring to watch on stage. You can really see all they are now are 6 guys who just want to play music, just really doing it for themselves, and that is so good. Tim the lead guitarist busted his knee on stage, and refused to leave because he wanted to play.
It was great.
Well the mission to North Melbourne.. Fire thwarted that one.
One nice big blackout where Jess was having her shindig.
SO they went to this place called 'Retreat'. i was amused..
I meet up with Mel and Brit, we head off to Retreat.
It's such a nice bar in brunswick, and ANYWHERE that is playing Love Shack by B52's as i walk in is a winner. Especially when that place is going off. They were playing heaps off awesome 80's, 90's pop rock stuff, just all Dancing music, and funnily enought the only venue that played almost every type of music i wanted to ever hear at the one place
Adrian always says something about me, and it is such a suitable quote for what was about to happen.
"Wherever you go, you ALWAYS know someone there that you haven't gone in with or are meeting"
So of course i knew Mel, Brit, and Jess who i was meeting there, and everyone else with jess. Who i ran into at the Retreat bar, that was the biggest shock of the weekend.
When i said i didn't meet anyone at the D&D Ball, well... what i was meant to say was that i met people there, i just had no way of contacting them again.
There was one girl i really wanted, and this is the girl who i saw at Retreat. And she saw me, and screamed and told me i had to find her later so we could have a drink and a dance..
She also said to me "is this your local too?"
Well i didn't see her later on... that sucked a little.
BUT I KNOW WHERE TO FIND HER!!
I'm going back in a few weeks, PLEASE come with me, at the very least i have found the single handedly best pub and if i don't see her there, i'll at least have all of you there to party with me.
Last note,
Jess, It was great seeing you on friday, you were having so much fun and like i told you, i know i haven't known you for nearly as long as everyone else, but i've really taken a shine to you, you're freaking awesome *wipes welling tears as im writing this to you* and i will miss you heaps while you are gone. We'll see each other soon, and that time will come quicker than we think.
Have a safe trip to england, don't get mad cow disease (wait... you're vegetarian... so you're safe), don't get too drunk (wait, you'll be seeing clutch... and that's the first band on your list...scratch that), dance hard, play hard, and enjoy it all.
