High Sierra Route

Jul 13, 2008 16:45

After spending WAAAY too much time planning and buying gear and packing in the past few days, Adam and I are finally about to leave on our epic backpacking trip. It is slightly less epic than originally planned (now 16 days instead of a month), but we are super stoked. We will be doing 2/3 of the Sierra High Route. I want to leave right now, so I'm not going to describe it. Exercise your google fu. We are starting at the southern end, in King's Canyon National Park, and heading northish to Devil's Postpile. And, thanks to the magic of satellite technology, you will be able to track us live on google maps! Head to this URL:

This same satellite technology will function as an emergency services locator beacon we can activate if there's serious trouble, so you needn't worry.

Lots of stuff still to update on from my trip with Candy, but things have been crazy with packing and planning. It will have to wait.

Much love to you all! Catch you on the flip side.
