No one gets over their first love. No one. The the more time that passes, and the more people you go out with and share intimacy with, the more you idealized that first one because nothing since has worked out at all. You start taking out pictures and stupid keepsakes from the time you were together and looking over them as if they were new again. (I do this with letters from John #1). It's obsessive and crazy, but you have to realize it didn't work out for a reason. God (or whatever) has something/someone better planned out for you. You just have to be patient and it will all be worth it in the end.
