So interesting phenomenon once I friended a good chunk of my family on Facebook I got increasingly more irritated with it. Okay there's the fact that online that they turn into those crazy religious rebuplicans on the internet and I'm forced to literally sit on my hands to stop myself from either a) mocking them or b) crying from the unfairness of it all. It's not that I have an issue with all Republicans, which would be ridiculous because the actions of the majority do not speak for the whole, I merely have issues with the ones that are jerks (and can't get past their white, male privilege which is totally aimed at one person) and it's just I'm the only non-religious one in my family (including extended) except for the hermit uncle and the only non-republican except for my two great aunts (and the hermit uncle, I don't like to think about it).
And all that is leading up to the fact that I tend to get into it a lot these days with my brother and my mother online. It's frustrating and I do believe they're entitled to their own opinion but it's becoming increasingly harder to step back (especially on issues that my mother and I clash over in RL as well, we tend to get into rather heated discussions about gay marriage). So I guess what I wanted to know for those of you who deal with your family online how do you do it? I'm not looking for a magical solution just something that will help really. :/
