The only one who moves is Oin, who, as soon as Thorin sits down, crouches down beside him. “Off with these, now,” he says, tugging on the buckles of Thorin’s vambraces, pulling them off then attacking Thorin’s coat and shirt. “With all respect to the wizard and his magic,” he says, nodding at Gandalf, “but I will not rest until I’ve seen to your wounds.”

Gandalf pulls at his beard and gives Oin an understanding smile.

Thorin is not so amiable - “I’m well enough, Oin. Just let me rest.” - although he does cooperate with Oin’s hands.

“And you, lass,” he says, causing Grace to raise her head, “I have not forgotten about you, either.” He turns his face to the rest of the company. “And if any of the rest of you are wounded, and don’t come forward, I’ll have your beards.”

There is a grumble from a few of them at this, and Bofur says, “I’ve got a papercut.”

Oin does not skip a beat. “I’ll see to it.”

“Actually, I’m quite -”

“Don’t test me, Bofur.”

Bofur ducks his head down. “Aye.”
