Okay wow I've had these Links of the Day accumulating since the start of November. Sorry about that.
Also I should give the obligatory "I ATEN'T DED" wave. Hiya.
And let's talk a bit about stuff that's going on in my life and family.
So the whole family was down with the flu last week. I was the last to fall, and by then my dad had already stayed home two days and my mom had gotten a fever. So cue a couple days of us all sitting like sad little lumps in the living room, not doing much of anything at all. We're all basically better now except for The Cough of Death.
The main thing I want to talk about though it that last Thursday around midday mom got tachycardia. She gets it sometimes, and has for years. This isn't new. It usually wears off during the day or at least overnight. Except apparently the universe decided to say fuck you to usually.
So she stayed tachy Thursday and Friday and on through Saturday. Dad and I were like hospital woman now but she didn't want to go, felt absolutely fine, she kept saying (except for the whole can't move thing), and also she didn't want to go because it was a long weekend due to a religious holiday (Immaculate Conception) and she was worried about what the hospital would be like on a day like that, and also she was worried about the medicine they'd give her to insta-stop the tachy. And Dad and I were like that's a good thing! It needs to stop! but no dice.
Anyway she was still tachy on Sunday, and by then she was getting bored and sick of it all and worried so worried and I was in full watch like a hawk mode since like Friday and that included comfort mode and distraction mode and I will make you all the herbal teas mode. So Monday morning came around and she still was tachy but finally agreed to getting to the hospital.
They stopped the tachy, put her on some saline solution, and kept her waiting around all day at the hospital in the corridor because full, yo. Eventually the doctors decided they wanted to keep her there for observation and further studies, so I loaded her up with stuff from home and we left her there.
Today they did more tests and again decided they wanted to keep her in the hospital and do more tests tomorrow (basically they're worried about what effects the five days of marathon-speed might have had on her heart). So she might come home tomorrow afternoon. She's fine and all and it's good that we're exploring options of the this is not a good thing to have keep happening. So yeah, that's happened.
Oh, and I'll be spending New Year's with
seschat. That's good. (I should also be checking out Germany for Place to Move to Soon, but ANXIETY and PROCRASTINATION are making that a no-go.)
