So I'm a big fan of conspiracies, whether they make a lick of sense or not, and I love hearing about new ones. I'm a Fortean, really. To the left of skeptics but to the right of ZOMG THE PRESIDENT IS A REPTOID.

While I'm a big fan of the classics--JFK's assassination; chemtrails; and the one that spawned modern anti-semitism, The Protocols of the Read more... )

truth, audience participation, lies

my favourites are my own, which later turn out to be true.

but of not mine, i like the president being a baby-eating reptoid. even if he's not literally a reptoid, i think he probably does eat babies. i also like the idea of god being an alien, and that radiation from a spaceship is what turned moses's hair and beard white while he was getting the 10 commandments from aliens.

What're some of yours that have turned out to be true?

"radiation from a spaceship is what turned moses's hair and beard white while he was getting the 10 commandments from aliens"

And you cannot leave us hanging on that.

i wouldnt say i originated the ideas, in many cases, but being fairly isolated, i reached conclusions that years later got mainstream notice, such as pharmaceuticals in drinking water, or cell phones fucking with the body, or 9-11 being more than we were told. some of my other theories, i wont go into, but if things ever go to hell, there should be a couple of fire-proof safes with my ideas in them. you're welcome to go through them ( ... )

I've heard a number of alien/god theories, with different religions, even, but never the Aliens Made Moses White-Haired bit. That's simply lovely.

Fireproof, sure, but...ORBITING X-RAY LASER PROOF?!

yeah, it's awesome. check into it some time. it goes beyond moses. the ark is probably radioactive, too, or some kind of alien super weapon. there's a whole "the bible is riddled with aliens" theory out there.

of course not. im not made of money. hopefully, it will survive. i doubt ill be carrying it with me, so it'll be up to someone to find it and revere me as a prophet. unless of course they are hit by nukes or orbiting lasers. then you'll have to talk to me directly. not over the internet of course. it's hardly secure.

There's a monthly mag from the UK--which I was once subscribed to, until the US price went to 11 bucks an issue--called The Fortean Times--which is dead brilliant.

Oh, and I recommend all of his books.

His tongue is so firmly in his cheek that I think even HE lost track of when he was being serious and when he wasn't...

Oh hell yes. Thanks for that!

That'll replace the paperbacks I have (only Lo! and Book of the Damned).

If you have any interest in aliens beign gods theory Please Please Please ignore books like "chariot of the gods" written by Erich Von Daniken or any of his other books as he just says "well, i don't know how this could have happened so it must be space aliens."

DO read things like "The 12th Planet" by Zecharia Sitchin. He actually has some good explanations. Originally he was going to try to prove the bible correct, but after reading into ancient Summarian texts and all he found out many other things instead.

Like all theories you need to read his books and take from them what you think works well for you, but at least he has some credible ideas an d info to back up his theories.

thanks, ill keep that in mind. im not overly interested in god being aliens, though ive read about the annunaki and such, a bit (articles, mainly). im less interested in space than i am in earth. ooparts, paranormal activity, reality in general...

Amen on Von Daniken.

I call myself a Fortean for the exact reason you name; just as I dislike scientists who make up explanations for things I dislike fringe-thinkers who say that if there's no explanation then they're right.
