so this weekend is not the greatest weekend for card games.
2-headed Giants States: Nobody care, brett and I opened a trashy cardpool, it's easily the worst thing I have opened so far, it happens states is pointless anyway so w/e.
After states, steve, lindsey, brett, dudda, ben, John, and myself went to applebees. we talked about random things, and then Ben Ras really wanted to go play poker with the money he got off of Dan for driving to pick him up after a car malfunction.
this brings us to the reason I hate bad players. (poker talk i'll try to explain).
I was in the small blind, the entire table calls, there are $20 in the pot and I decide my $2 for that 20 is sufficient pot odds to call with Ace/4 Off-suit.
The flop A/A/4. I have a full house, Aces full of fours...best possible hand, 96% to win against any possible hand, so I bet. I get a raise back at me (this seems good for me, since someone has an ace, and probably a face card, as from where he called you don't play Ace rag (low card)). So we keep betting the pot gets up to about 40-50.
turn comes 7, if he has ace A/7 I'm behind, but only that hand beats me, and as I said before that hand shouldn't be played. we keep betting, pot goes up to about $100. River comes 5. With how I have been betting I obviously have an ace, and my other card has to beat a 5. So I assume that this guy doesn't seem awful, he would have folded that away for sure.
he bets, I re-raise he calls. I show Ace/4 everyone at the table is like "nice, good job" this guy, who might be the worst, but luckiest guy ever, shows a A/5. I lose to a river with $100 in the pot on a hand that shouldn't have gone to the flop. how awful. way to lose $100 on 4%.
Such is life, I'm certain I will win it back later, I win in that position 96% of the time, sometimes you lose, you get over it and you come back later, don't get stuck at a table, let the money go and get it later.
All in all I feel fine about my play, and actually want to go out there again to win some of that money back.
