Title: Division
Characters: Gwen, Kevin
Warnings: None
Summary: “Kevin, I want you to stop jerking me and Ben around.”
Notes: The amount of Gwen-hate on this community makes me sad. As I mentioned before, I like Gwen, just not when she’s in the middle of drooling over Kevin. Besides, like it or hate it, in the show Kevin does show interest ( Read more... )

1-Love your icon. Conan is awesome.

2-I'm sorry that we're making you sad...I don't hate Gwen myself, and I think most of the people on this community don't actually hate her, either...we just hate Gwevin. Does that make any sense? In any case, I am sorry. *hugs*

I do love stuff like this, where Gwen just instinctively KNOWS before Kevin knows himself. Kevin's turmoil is heartbreaking, and Gwen being so cool about it...*sighs* Oh, this really is great. My favorite, though, is Gwen just standing up and "Let me know when you decide, okay?" Loved that.

I won't ask you to continue this, though I am curious how Kevin would fare in his thoughts with Ben there instead of Gwen...but, in a way, I feel like it shouldn't be continued...am I making any sense at all? I feel like this comment is just one huge babble...

Conan is awesome. I'm about halfway through the series right now since I found a place to watch online. Score ( ... )

Heheheh. Nice. :D

*nodnod* Exactly. It also doesn't help that Gwen exhibits a trait that I have that I absolutely hate and am trying to change: she treats the whole dating thing incredibly casually. "You like me, I like you, so let's date, why not?" It's such a guarded response to the situation that just makes her look weak.

I've never been in a situation like that myself, but I do understand protecting the heart. Women are sensitive and prideful. We kind of have to.

She was very mature about the whole thing, and without the aforementioned casualness. She treated the situation seriously. It was refreshing.

Another thing I was thinking of was Ben and Gwen talking about it. It's things like this that have me creating different scenarios all over the place. But if you end up not doing anymore, then it's great as it is. :)

Awwwww nuts. If you like Gwen I can't use my totally crazy idea for the Round Robin now. D: Can I still do it? Please?

I don't hate her. I just think it's really easy to make her a not good character because she gets in the way of my preferred ship and she never lives up to her potential. She could have been totally awesome. Boo.

You, however, have created a pretty goddamn plausible concept here. So plausible, you could call it off-screen canon. (Did I just invent a new fandom term? Sweet.) I would not mind reading more if you have it, but hey... it's good as it stands too. Up to you, cybra.

You can still do it if you want. It's your part of the story. :D I just wrote this since I wanted to stick up for Gwen since, you're right, she could totally be a bad ass character--and on occasion she is--but she turns all weak when she's around Kevin. That pisses me off.

Like I said in an above comment, I kind of went through something like this before so part of this is personal experience talking. I didn't want to be that "third character in the triangle" since I knew it wouldn't end well. Gwen seems intelligent enough to figure it out if not right away but after a while.

YAY! We can make her badass. BAD GUY BADASS!! XD

That sucks. Triangles are icky things. Lucky me I haven't found myself near one yet. Gwen should be intelligent enough to figure it out.

Admittedly, I liked Gwen back in Ben 10 when she was more of a...Smart-ass, for a lack of better words. I miss her and Ben sniping at each other more than anything, really. More than I miss her actually using real magic (contradictory statement much ( ... )

I miss the old Gwen the way I miss Misty of Pokemon. This new Gwen is like May. A cheap substitute for the interaction with the main character with a totally watered-down personality.

Sorry if I made you mad, but I'm not standing up for that dumb comment in "Alien X" but for her in general. She does occasionally kick so much ass even if it's more of a defensive position than offensive (holding back a tractor beam for even a few minutes impressed the hell out of me), but her attitude when she's drooling over Kevin pisses me off. They take a really cool character and make her this limp noodle.

I don't understand why Gwevin shippers automatically assume that if you don't like their ship, you must not like Gwen. As I stated in my notes, I like Gwen but I like Bevin. If you use their circular logic, if you like Gwevin, then you don't like Ben, and I'd like to assume that that's not the case.

I guess I like both old and new Gwen. It's nice to see how her relationship with Ben since that summer evolved but I'd like her to still be a little snarky with him.

Oh, no. I'm not mad at all. You make a good point, really. Gwen is a good character, but I think she could do so much more if she wasn't constantly going off to drool at Kevin. That one-liner in "X = Ben + 2" was just an example of how it seems like some her dialogue just sort of falls flat. Her action sequences can be good, yeah, but I guess I'm still sore about the "It's not magic it's ALIEN POWERZ" thing. (How do you explain Charmcaster?) I can't help but think that she's not living up to the full potential of nearly all aspects of her character. Maybe she needs her own villain to draw that out of her? (Again, I vote Charmcaster. I'm just a mite obsessed, yeah ( ... )

Oh, Kevin. If I were Gwen, I totally wouldn't mind letting you have both.
I like Gwen too, actually. She's smart most of the time. She's just an incredible idiot when she's drooling over Kevin...or saying something stupid.

So, I came online to say that I'm pretty sure it'll be a good idea to skip my turn for the round robin because I've been sick all week and I'm still not all that much better. Life just throws all kinds of things at you, you know?

Yeah. That's my main beef with her. I want to shake her and yell at her to be badass again whenever it happens.

Okay. I'll pick up where tonberry left off. You feel better, okay?

I KNEW IT! saiika_von_maou February 3 2009, 04:51:24 UTC
I knew it, I knew it; I win, cuz I KNEW IT!

It WAS YOU that wrote "Substitute Sibling" that I read a long time ago when I first roved through the archives on here, it WAS YOU that wrote one of MY FAVORITE lines in all fanfiction (this would be in "Lost in a Daydream" when Gwen sprays Kevin with a squirt gun and says, "Down boy. Down." XD), and it WAS YOU that wrote "Instinct," the fic whose ending I keep bashing my head on my keyboard over every time I read it because KEVIN IS JUST TOO CUTE IN IT.

^^; I only mention this because I've been thinking of those fics since I read this, and just today I went back in the community archives to find them and be sure.

I KNEW IT.

Just saying.
