Annnnd I'm behind on updating again. But! I have new icons! PotC:DMC icons! Issac icon! Hiro icons!
...yes, I loves my Heroes. Which is on tonight. *cheers* We're so watching that Brazil. Right?
So, I'll start on Thursday. Class was fine, I met up with Brazil for lunch and then went into work for a few hours. Mom flew in this day, so I got a call from her and then met up with her at four. They'd only just fixed our water problems, so there was a huge pile of dishes left. We dug through those and finished them all off. We still had to go grocery shopping and cook, but it was getting later and later, so...we decided to order something instead. Thai Ruby was just down the street and I am rather fond of Thai...
So we did Take Out!
The roommates rejoiced, Brazil enjoyed it, and we all had a grand old time. Talked a bit after that and then I sent Brazil home so I could do some shopping with Mom. My sister-in-law down here is due in April and I got a card that day for her baby shower, so Mom volunteered to go help me pick out some gifts for it. I managed to get a few cute outfits and wow...there are some really fancy baby clothes out there. It's like playing Dress Up...but on real people! (Though Ci made a comment about how babies don't count as sentient beings until they can talk. *snerk*)
Got some clothes for me after that and then Mom dropped me off. I did some homework, then called Brazil and went over to hang out for a little. We took a walk since it was finally warm enough to do that and managed to run into Anna on campus. It was odd, since she was sitting in a car with her roomie (they could mooch wireless and had no internet at their place). Basically, life was good.
Now on Friday I slacked. A lot. I slept through the time I should've been getting ready and then showered during the time I should've gone to class. Then slacked and watched more Arrested Development when I should've been working. I did go to my 1 o'clock class and finalized plans to meet up with my group to prep for our presentation (that's today). I had an hour break after that class and watched even more Arrested Development. I was on the last DVD for season one...why not finish it off? One guy in the library even complimented my choice in entertainment. I was amused.
Our meeting was really short and basically consisted of most of us showing up and putting together the powerpoint slides everyone had made. They were all put onto my computer and I felt bad that I had no fancy colors or effects, but...oh well. We also joked that we should get an old picture and copy the really lame effects they'd done in this video we watched in class. Flipping it back and forth, making designs with multiple shots of it. And the bright clashing colors. Oh, the pain.
Talked to Rini on the phone after that and then headed home. Goofed off some more, then headed off to the party. We picked up Ben and his date Jenny (who I had a very fun conversation with and finally managed to get to know her well -- I miss Japan!) and then went over to Ken and Jen's. I'd met all but Jenny before, so it was pretty fun at the beginning. We ate cake, played games (Trivial Pursuit, Curses), talked, discussed their new couch, and then watched Better Off Dead. ...apparently I was just about as amusing as the movie. I just react. I guess. ...anyhoo. I very much enjoyed the movie and hopefully now I'll get more of the random quoting Brazil does from it. ...I hope.
Dropped off Ben and Jenny and then went home. Ah, the joys of staying up too late.
Saturday consisted of a light cleaning check in the morning and then goofing off a little after that. I got a call from Mom to see what my plans for the day were and basically it came down to the fact that she was busy all day, I would be doing random things, and we'd meet up later that night. Fi, Ci and I went house hunting after that and basically we're down to two choices. Monticello and Casa Dea. The second apartment we looked at in Casa Dea was actually occupied by a friend of mine from Freshman year and it was the most random thing to have her open the door. But I got to email her after for some later questions.
I'm still not sure which one I like better. They're both roomy, close to campus, only four people, nice on the inside, have close laundry (Casa's even got keys to their machines!) and have internet, a/c, the usual necessities. So we'll see which one looks better in the long run? I dunno, hopefully we'll have a decision made (along with a contract) by the end of February. It'll be nice to know where I'm living next.
Came home and did more goofing off. I caught up (partially) on
shadesrp and
Spiral, chatted a little, and then had Mom come over. She brought me a burger and helped me figure out a thesis for my analysis paper due on Wednesday. ...just like four other things. *sighs* I swear they chose Valentine's Day on purpose. And it's the first one where I'm not single!
Watched more EVA with Brazil that night and we finally got into the better parts. Even if Shinji is whiny at least he admits it and doesn't like being that way. ...and he's kinda amusing/creepy in Bezerker mode. Plus the EVA eye? Creeeeeeeeepy.
...and I stayed up late hearing about Momo's character sheet. (Squeeeeeeee!) And chatting with people...
Around rolled Sunday and I almost wasn't ready in time. (I got like two phone calls that morning and Mom stopped by...crazy, crazy.) Managed to meet up with Mom on campus instead of having her walk up with us (she was parked in our parking lot) and she drove Brazil and I back. The roomies beat us back home, but oh well. There was far less walking for me! Changed out of my skirt and made Yakisoba with Mom's help. Then Brazil, Mom, and Ci all took partook of it. Along with a good session of mocking Bel and her finicky eating habits. Mom had put green peppers, zucchini, onions, and other vegetables in. ...and I'm not fond of those three. So I was picking at them and doing my best to avoid them. Everybody else had cleaned their plates. But eh, I'm used to it.
Went over to Jason and Kristen's after that and fed them the rest of the Yakisoba. They both liked it! Talked for a bit, got teased (not about food this time) and then found myself dozing. Mom took me home and then I sat around on the couch and dozed, listening to the roomies move around and such. Decided I needed a nap. Took one. For two hours. Woke up and decided I should call Brazil and return to the world of the living. Ate some of the food Mom had given me and then headed over after Brazil said he was done with his homework. Proof read his instructions webpage and called Nana back when Jason had told me she wanted me to call her. I had been afraid she thought something had changed in the status of Brazil and I's relationship (since Mom had misheard a er, story of mine...and told it to other people) but it was just to see if I wanted a jacket. ...which she'll send me a picture of. *sighs* I got worked up over nothing. Hung out with Brazil some more, snuggled, dozed, and gave him a sorely needed back massage. Gave my hands a good work out, too. I think one of my wrists was a little tired this morning. Probably from that, though they both feel fine now. At least that's a relief.
He walked me home, I grabbed some food to snack on (graham crackers and nutella!) and got online for a little bit. Got jumped...and chatted with the Spiral!cast for the first time in a long time. It felt nice, but I'm still happy with the way my life is looking right now. Even if that comment from Brazil's dad about letting him know if anything changes so they can take me with them on trips made me go into a small state of shock. ...many jokes were made with Brazil and wow. I keep thinking I should be worried about how much we worry about marriage and stuff. ....right. Anyhoo...
And now it's Monday morning and I have too many overdue things to be doing. And I'm skipping class. ...again. *sighs* At least it's my busy-work Folklore class?
Talk to you all later~
