Akiba and Anime Rants
My friend wanted to buy a hard disk for his laptop, because his broke down. So I tagged along to get a final glimpse of Akiba. We tried the Ganso Takoyaki ("Ganso" means "Authentic") and Yakiniku Onigiri. MAI~UUUU~~~! (Delicious!)
The first time when I went Akiba 2 years back, there weren't that many females roaming the streets (excluding the Maids who were there to give out Maid Cafe flyers to guys ONLY...girls cannot go Maid Cafe meh???). But now, I can see Akiba is slowly opening up. I saw a kid riding on bicycle behind her Dad. A group of high school girls out-of-uniform giggling and screeching (all the guys are just staring at their super-mini skirts only...probably hoping for a wind. today's much warmer @ 18 degree celcius, so they get to flaunt their legs). Couples who don't look a single bit 'Otaku' at all.
Well, that's the main street for you.
The alleys...are still oozing with Otakuness especially hentai stuffs lurking at every corner.
After my friend bought what he came for, we went in search for the Famous Oden Vending Machine. (My entry on it here) But we chanced upon this Oden in a can first.

I bought 4 cans. Heheh.
When we finally found the Famous Oden Vending Machine, it's sold out! ARGH. T____T But I realised that they reduced the price from 250 yen to 200 yen :) Next time! (Don't know if there's next time to Akiba XD)
Naruto is getting suckier. I almost couldn't believe my ears when they said 'MAI~UUU~' in one of the episodes. Yakitate Japan is beyond saving from crappiness in each episode (the recent one is about a guy with a panda head who has a wish of making exploding bread for everyone to eat and when he failed the contest, he later changed to a real panda???!!!), and now Bleach is under the knife after they finish the Soul Society section.
You see Renji, Ichigo and gang goofing around with 3 new enemies who weren't in the manga version. It's so ARGH!!! What happen to Anzen plot direction? Gone! I really wonder if they'll one day go back to the manga direction. I seriously doubt. Bleach will be dragged as long as possible to eternity in hell by those anime production studio.
That's why I dislike watching Weekday anime, unless I'm really free or I want some good laughing. Because right now, the direction for Weekday anime (from 6 pm to 7.30 pm) is for kids. kids. kids. Guess viewership matters. money matters.
Luckily Blood+ is on Saturday, and I could still catch that if I remember. Or else, I simply download it off net, which is so ironic. Because downloading while I can get easy access on TV. Now I really think anime is best left for downloading. So it doesn't matter if the person's here in Japan or not because you won't get to watch it on TV anyway (unless you pay). Anime on Free TV sucks (except for Blood+).
By this, somehow MediaCorp Arts Central seems to be doing a better job than Japan's. Though we get old anime, at least it's also anime cater for young adults.
