My election day played out slightly different than I had envisioned.
I went out to my car in the morning to go to work and found that my passenger side window had been smashed and my car looted for anything of value. It seems that one of the roads we park on at night had it's streetlights out and our local vandals took that as an opportunity. They stole our GPS device out of the glovebox and it's charger. Otherwise nothing else was taken. Obviously they didn't like my taste in music.
We were not the only ones to be visited by the ugly thug fairy. It seemed they went down both sides of this street breaking into any car that looked halfway decent. We estimated about 6-8 cars in total. Lucky me for being popular.
So I spent the day home trying to get the insurance, police reports and window fixing wrangled. Also had to go and get a new license at the DMV since mine expired on Halloween this year.
All in all, not horrible but an inconvenience. I wasn't mad, since there was nothing I could do about it. But it was ill timed (if there could be a good time for a smash and grab) since it started raining yesterday afternoon.
The window was replaced today while I was at work. So there was quick recovery with a liberal application of money. Here's hoping this will be the last time I have to do this.
