Songs Help... I think...

It’s funny how you can know of a song for ages but
the lyrics don’t really mean anything to you until something happens in your
life that makes the meaning as clear as a bell. I’ve just been singing along my
Queen Greatest Hits DVD and when it got to “Save Me” every single word applies
to me now. Well, almost every word.

Save Me
Words and music by Brian May

It started off so well
They said we made a perfect pair (well “they” never
actually said that but we told ourselves we were a perfect pair anyway!)

I clothed myself in your glory and your love

How I loved you
How I cried...
The years of care and loyalty
Were nothing but a sham it seems (yep, damn straight!)

The years belie we lived a lie
I love you till I die (I bloody well hope I don’t!)

Save me save me save me
I can't face this life alone
Save me save me save me...
I'm naked and I'm far from home (well I’m not naked yet
but I am considerably poorer. I’ve lost a lot of weight since the split and my
clothes are beginning to drop off me but no embarrassing moments just yet!)

The slate will soon be clean
I'll erase the memories
To start again with somebody new
Was it all wasted
All that love?...
I hang my head and I advertise
A soul for sale or rent
I have no heart I'm cold inside (I still have a warm heart
inside of me, filled with lots of love to give but no one to give it to any
more)
I have no real intent
Save me save me save me
I can't face this life alone
Save me save me save me...
I'm naked and I'm far from home (Yes I am far from home.
He whisked me away to this fun-forsaken part of the country and now I can’t
afford to go back home.)

Each night I cry I still believe the lie (Yes it seems our
love was a lie)
I love you till I die
Save me save me save me
Don't let me face my life alone
Save me save me ooh...
I'm naked and I'm far from home

Good old Brian May!

music, evil
