The Gammura/Giornea Project

Jul 07, 2007 11:20

so, this is the outfit I'm making for TRF.

There will be a forest green underdress (gamurra) which can be worn on its own, and a gold tabard-style overdress (giornea).

These are the fabrics:

I have 5.5 yards (54 w) of the gold, and 5 yards (45 w) of the forest green velveteen.

The gamurra is esentially like the other two italian-style dresses I have, with square neck and high waist- really, the very most comfortable faire garb. The gamurra will have matching sleeves which will be detachable to make the dress even more versatile for different weathers.

Anyway, that, and Mitchell's short pants make my two sewing projects. soon, we'll lay up some loki, and I promise to get my chocolate covered orange for this year. I'm working on some ideas for the Thanksgiving feast, but I cant make good plans till we have an idea how many would be interested- please let me know!

are you ready for TRF? It's closer than you think!

trf, garb, faire, feast
