Mitchell and I took a bike trip up to Dallas this weekend. We took the motorcycle, and it was my longest trip yet- about 250 miles or so- I'm still a little sore! We stayed at the Wyndham Garden Inn on Coit and LBJ- its a nice enough place; a clean room which you book online at $70 pre tax but ends up about $10 less. The facility is a bit worn, and it's not in a great part of town, but, again, it's a clean room and a good night's sleep. Had dinner at The Old Monk on Henderson- Mitchell had the German plate (which was almost as good as the german restaurant in Walburg) and I had the Ploughman's Lunch- a cup of soup, two cheeses from thier gourmet cheeseboard (I had a german smoked basil, and a Laura Chanel Chevril- now I know why all of her cheeses win awards!) and frenchbread- so good!!! Went to Grapevine the next day, had brunch at Wilhoites- WOW. Great bloody marys, custom made omelets (sooo gooey cheesy!) and loads of other great things- then off to British Emporium for some good stuff- like some Violet Crumbles, some true English Toffee, a couple of ginger beers, a couple of cans of soup, a mix for some indian potatoes and Coleman's shepard's pie mix (the best in the world if you ask me)
Anywho, next time we'll plan ahead and see if anybody's available to come out and play with us!
