Year in review...

Jan 01, 2009 09:56

Lots of changes this year - the most notable of which is the move from Vegas to Massachusetts. Winter is both beautiful and sucky at the same time. I am dependent on others for transportation at the moment, which adds to the suckiness of it.

Being a home owner has its drawbacks - like not getting the big flat screen TV I was planning on getting next week because my chimney needed some serious attention.

I seem to have turned in to Suzie Homemaker since I got to Mass. Part of that is because my father is living with me and he wont take care of himself, so I wind up doing it. From his laundry to the cooking and cleaning, I'm doing it all. Though I have discovered a new love of cooking that I hadn't previously noticed.

Health drawbacks suck - new doctors suck, but I am fighting the good fight and not giving in.

I've been a homebody more than not. Mainly due to health, but sometimes due to weather. I am doing a demo next week that I am looking forward to. It's been a while since I've done one, but I think I will enjoy it - and it's on a subject near and dear to my heart.

If I had to make a resolution for 2009 - it will be to finish unpacking - lol. My dining room is non-existent due to being filled with boxes and stray furniture. In a perfect world (or one where the boxes magically unpack themselves and furniture moves on its own where I want it to), that room will be a chess room/study/library. That is the goal, anyway... I may change my mind half way through.

As with last year, Asbjørn has been my rock. He never fails to make me smile or pick me up when I am down. His insight, kindness, wisdom, and good nature, have kept me going more than he knows.

I miss Vegas and the people there. There is definitely something to be said for not having to drive 30 miles for parties or get together's. I miss all stores/restaurants taking debit or credit cards - lol, I've had to start carrying cash again. I also miss the variety of the restaurants that are available within a 5 or 10 minute drive. That probably lends to the whole Suzy Homemaker thing too - there aren't that many places to eat out in Ware.

Heres to a new year - may it be a great one for everyone.
