for a given degree of "at".....
Monday was pretty hectic... first day back, lots and lots of excited LOUD people. Most of the computers not working - making following instructions to check emails a little tricky. But did catch up with Alice, and Jen... the morning was the entire BATP, all three years squidged into the theatre. oh my gods so loud!!!
There's an event coming up at the end of november, celebrating the arrival of the Eurostar at Kings Cross... Central is working on the parade, and they said two magic words -costume, and acrobats. Lycra!!! Emma (who I finally identified who she's so like - Rose from Doctor Who.) and Viveen are working on the project, whereas my project is Electra, but I've volunteered to help with exciting Lycra costumes. Everyone else HATES sewing stretch fabrics! Strange people.
But yeah, Monday afternoon... we had a meet and greet with the 1st and 2nd years. So noisy, I could hardly hear anyone. Went home about 3.30? got back 5. of course, got to victoria 1 minute before the train left- meaning that it had just been taken off the screens, so I didn't know which platform, so I had to wait 30 minutes for the next train. grrr.
Yesterday, I could have chosen to go into uni - and spend the day researching on a computer there.... or, stay at home and work in comfort with tea on tap! Aunt Caroline came over to pick up grandmother's "car of gold". Caroline doesn't converse, she interrogates. can be quite hard. I got on with my research.... Gatwick Express, Glam Rockers, existing Electras, and I started sketching to combine these elements. We went to Tesco in the evening and got a new sketchbook to dedicate to this project.
Today I'm gonna get on with sketching every detail of this costume, deciding exactly what I want... then I'll mock up the shapes in paper on the mannequin to get the proportions. Then I'll try to get in touch with the new props tutor, and ask professional advice!
might even go into college tomorrow....
