I fail at keeping track of what I've been up to! So I'm just gonna list where I've got to now. It'll be dull, don't bother reading...
Right. As of today:
GLINDA:
SO FAR: Underskirt done, bar a fastening. Needs fitting.
Bodice initial toile fitted. But now, with more reference pics and the underskirt made, I need to re-make the back of the toile to poik out at the back. (poik - technical term)
To do: re-cut back panels of toile, tuesday morning. Get Mazz into uni tuesday afternoon, fit underskirt and new toile.
Finish sequinned panels
Cut new toile in drille, bone drille. Cover drille in satin and organza. Overlock off panels, sew up.
Pipe, make sleeves, finish off bodice, attach shininesses.
Calculate volume of Organza needed for the 36 petals. (found enough for bodice - I think) and GO BUY IT AT FIRST OPPORTUNITY!
Make the 6 small, 10 medium, 20 large petals. 1 layer organza, one layer cheap white lining satin. U shape. Overlock, turn, press, glue on thousands of sequins.
Make up base skirt in blue satin. Attach the 36 petals.
do anything else I've forgotten.
Do written work, including talking to wedding dress makers.
DINAH:
SO FAR: have old leggings. Have made coach windows stripes, windows sewn on, fabric paint decorated. Sleeves cut out. Leotard cut out.
TO DO: paint leotard. attach windows to sleeves and leggings, finish decorating windows with studs. Decorate leggings with studs.
Add another 6 metres of net to underskirt - double the length of net and double the number of pleats - keeping each pleat same sze as current. That'll give plenty of bounce with good proportions. Buy 12 metres of silver ribbon to trim said underskirt. Sew pleats into the waistband, hand sew the pleat layers together.
newspaper calculate skirt shape. Cut in satin. Paint. Edge with silver ribbon and studs. Attach to waistband. Put in loads of fasteners to hold everything together.
