Thanksgiving was very different this year, and in a great way. We went to my first cousin once removed wife's sisters house - they live about a half hour north from Josh and me. My first cousin once removed (Tim Ice) and his wife (Priscilla) are the ones who live in Spokane and helped us during all the car trouble. Priscilla's sister and her entire family were so welcoming on Thanksgiving! Josh and I felt like we belonged right there with those people. It was, of course, difficult for both of us not to be at home with our families of origin for Thanksgiving, but there was not a better place we could have been otherwise. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, we met a lot of very kind people, had great conversations, played games, etc. It was a blast!
Black Friday was a whole new day of fun! We woke up at 4:30 a.m. and were on the bus to downtown Seattle by 5:30 a.m. We got to Macy's first and really took advantage of sales there. Throughout the morning, we went to Macy's, Victoria's Secret, F-Y-E, Trade Secret, Sephora, Banana Republic, and The Calendar Store. We wound up saving 40% on our purchases for the entire day! We got some great Christmas/birthday presents for friends and family, as well as some goodies for ourselves. Josh got a great deal at Banana Republic - buy one cashmere sweater, get one free! We couldn't pass it up! Overall, it was a wonderful shopping day! Exhausting, and great. :)
