If you haven't yet, go check out the stories in Scatterlings and Orphanages Africander ficathon. That includes all you RL people who don't usually read fic. Seriously, guys, there are some really fantastic stories over there.
The other rec has absolutely nothing to do with that one.
I wonder sometimes why I still check ff.net for fiction. I realized recently it's due to a Pavlovian conditioning effect, utilizing the most successful reward system there is. Usually I don't find anything exciting. But sometimes I find a real gem.
This one impressed me in that way. And totally surprised me.
It's Spander.
It's second season Spander. From School Hard.
Anyone still with me? Well, I'll go on.
It's second season Spander from School Hard but not the part where Angel offers Xander to Spike.
*Gasp!* Is that even allowed?!!!
Not only that, but it has good characterization! I mean, like, really good characterization, of all the characters presented. No one is bashed. Everyone reacts in character.
And yet, it's Spander!
