Dallas Observer is seeking an editorial assistant for our dynamic newsroom. College education, computer proficiency (including the Internet), excellent grammar/spelling, organizational, research, clerical and communications skills essential. This is a perfect position for a self-starter who derives satisfaction from creating order out of chaos. We need someone who is able to handle multiple tasks, work independently on long-term projects, can carry out simple research assignments as well as keep the copy machine running. A liberal arts background is preferred. This is an entry level, full time position with benefits. Send cover letter and resume to: Julie Lyons, Editor 2501 Oak Lawn Avenue #700 Dallas, TX 75219 NO PHONE CALLS OR E-MAILS, PLEASE. ONLY MAILED COVER LETTERS & RESUMES WILL BE CONSIDERED.
Which means that I'm officially the copy editor, though the actual title is Editorial Operations Manager (inane, I know).
