Wow, interesting.
I made this list back in July 2005 of things I would need when moving into my first apartment. I'd say I stuck to it pretty well. There are a few things I can NOT find, and a couple that I am surprised I wanted. So since I'd made it into a private LJ entry, I'm going to show it to you all now so you can see how well I have stuck to it. And no LJ cut for you!
THINGS I MUST HAVE IN MY APARTMENT AT ALL TIMES (foodly speaking):
~Garlic powder CHECK!
~onion powder CHECK!
~salt/pepper CHECK!
~butter (land o lakes spread) CHECK! Except it's Country Crock.
~milk CHECKish because I do not use milk that often so even though I usually have it, it's usually gone bad lol
~wondra!!! CHECK!
~paprika CHECK!
~some type of small pasta CHECK!
~parmesan cheese CHECK!
~water CHECK!
~hummus CHECK!
~mozzerella cheese CHECK!
~carrot sticks NOT CHECK :(
~mushrooms (not the stupid kind that come in a can, the fresh kind.) LOL CHECK but I actually prefer the canned ones bc the fresh ones are usually never fresh
~chicken soup base NOT CHECK I can't find the exact kind I am looking for
~boullion cubes CHECK!
~white pepper CHECK!
~accent CHECK!
~morton lite salt CHECK!
~chicken! NOT CHECK I do have chicken but it's quite old
~pulp-free orange juice CHECK! but probably for a different reason now than I had wanted back then lol
~sweet tea SO NOT CHECK
~water THIS IS ON HERE TWICE LOL
~the garlic chunks like my dad has in the freezer OMG NOT CHECK I CAN'T FIND THESE ANYWHERE IN THE ENTIRE BAY AREA WTF... but I finally have some actual garlic cloves so checkish
~pineapple juice cans like in the fridge NOT CHECK and whytf did I want these???
Also, things that I must buy as far as furnishing:
~dining table/chairs CHECK!
~couch of some sort, preferably with a pull-out bed CHECK AND CHECK!
~TV stand CHECK!
~bed CHECK!
~dresser CHECK!
~desk CHECK! It's a POS though
~full mirror and/or decent sized wall mirror cuz i'm freakin vain! NOT CHECK but my bathroom mirror is big enough to suffice
~bathroom stuff CHECK PROBABLY THIS IS TOO BROAD LOL
~DVD rack CHECK!
And finally, things that are useful to have that I will probably forget about:
~Air freshner CHECK!
~trash bags CHECK!
~trash cans CHECK!
~various cleaning products CHECK!
~mail organizer NOT CHECK but I hardly get mail anyway
~swiffer! CHECK!
~smartspin.com CHECK!
~flip-n-fold OMG CHECK!!! My dad gave me his for Christmas
~cool chopper thing CHECK!
