Inception
I have a lot of clinging thoughts and frustrations for this movie, but mostly I can't get past Arthur, Ariadne, and that one chaste kiss. "They're looking at you. Quick, kiss me. They're still looking at you. It was worth a try." And you know that terrifying gorgeous scene in the basement when Mal speaks to Ariadne about what it means to be a lover? I am TORNAPARTDYING to see the story of Ariadne and Arthur becoming lovers in the way that Mal meant.
Also. The score. Jesus fuck.
ALSO CILLIAN MURPHY IS NOT BAD AT ACTING.
Mad Men 4x01:
THE COLOUR SCHEMES, OMFG. I'm watching for the colours. Which says a lot 'cause the plot is decent also.
I COULD JUST DIE.
Supernatural at Pacey Con Comic Con:
STILL GOOD-LOOKING. I haven't watched the vids, though. I'M ABSTAINING. I've decided that I miss all the wonder and anticipation that goes along with not knowing what's going to happen. Only once since the finale have a run across someone being careless with a spoiler they assumed was so wide-spread as to no longer count. Other than that, I KNOW NADA. It won't be easy staying out of the fandom side of things, not watching the adorable interview vids, and generally becoming a hermit prior to the premiere. But I'm doin' it. I'M GOING IN BLIND THIS TIME.
Nail Polish:I don't know what happened, something clicked and I am full on obsessed with nail polish. The amount of information I've absorbed about brands and colours over the past week is truly dumb.
Pretty Little Liars is not a quality show in any way, but I do find the clothes hilariously entertaining, and the nail polish was a major factor in my new obsession. Especially Aria's green polish. LOOK AT IT. UGH. I know I'm, like, a year behind the light green trend, I don't care. According to an article I read online the show's makeup artist uses Zoya, but Zoya doesn't have a mint green according to their website, so I doubt it's the only brand used.
I had a hunch that the green polish either came from Lucy Hale, or that she kept it on after filming, and lo and behold she can be seen wearing it at a few events. SO PRETTY.
Welcome to my stumpy fingers! Right now I'm wearing O.P.I Rumples Wiggin'. It was an adjustment, to be wearing such a bright colour on my nails. For as long as I can remember I've worn nothing but a very light sparkly pink on my toes. But for some reason the current obsession is all about pale pastel creams.
And quality. Trying different brands to find my favourite has already been a costly experiment. The results so far? O.P.I = WORTH EVERY EXPENSIVE PENNY. I will never (okay, I still want to try MAC, Zoya & China Glaze) buy another bottle that isn't O.P.I. The brush is so far and beyond better than the others I've tried so far (Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure and Revlon Top Speed) it's not even funny. It's impossible to convey how much easier it is to cleanly apply than other brands. And the formula is so thick I only need 2 coats before it's perfectly opac. It also settles nicely as it's drying, so that any initial streaks disappear on their own. And it dries SO FAST. This is my biggest problem with nail polish. I can never wait the necessary amount of time before smudging the still-wet polish. Two final major bonuses? Even with a job where I work hard with my hands the O.P.I didn't chip for multiple days. And one thing I haven't seen mentioned on the nail blogs I've recently been reading, but is a huge factor for me: smell. I found Revlon Complete Salon Manicure to have a strong chemical smell that didn't dissipate after it dried. It gave me a headache before I gave up, removed it, and vowed to use it for my toes only. The O.P.I has a lighter smell straight out of the bottle, and even that completely disappeared within a day. Smell is important to me. If something is annoying my olfactory system it does not survive.
So. Money. I'm spending it all on nail polish now. Hopefully this will subside before I go broke. I even ordered some from ebay. Ebay! I haven't been obsessed enough with something to do that for 4 years (but there was no other way to get China Glaze's For Audrey AND I HAD TO HAVE IT). I do want a mushroomy taupe, a darker purple, and a teal for fall. Then that's it. Cut off. Seriously. For real.
