I don't really know what was or wasn't popular in the fandom, so I'll just give opinions that probably not what Joss was going for. *g*
1. I HAVE GREAT RAGE FOR THE FACT THAT CORDELIA BARELY SPOKE TO WELSEY, OR EVEN ACKNOWLEDGED HIS EXISTENCE AFTER THE WHOLE BABY-STEALING INCIDENT. It was seriously lame writing to not deal with the fall-out of their relationship at all.
2. FRED/WES!!11
3. I never really cared for Gunn.
4. I hate that Angel and Cordy fell in ~*~love~*~. They were better as partners.
I'm not sure what the popular opinions are in this fandom!
1. I LOVE MICHEAL. I find his zest for life completely endearing. Even though it runs on naivety, immaturity and denial for the most part. I still find it admirable that he's been knocked down so many times, in big ways occasionally and in small ways constantly, but he hasn't given up on the happy ending.
2. This whole season I found the episodes funny at the time, but forgettable after the fact.
3. I don't ever find Meridith funny. Unless somebody is hitting her with a car.
1) Michael makes me SO uncomfortable SO often but you're right... the boy keeps getting his ass kicked and but is still so sunny and optimistic. I kind of loved the mini-story where he went out on his own because it showed him actually being a success... without that... without seeing that he's not a complete disaster, the show won't work because you wonder how the EFF this guy ended up in charge of this big branch. :)
3) Meredith... I'm kinda with you. Of the characters, she's prolly my least fave (tho I still like her... just not as much as, say, Creed - who is the funniest SOB that isn't Jim, Michael, Dwight or Andy. :)
2. I enjoyed Ted/Robin, and will always be a little bit sad that they don't work out in the end, even though I like how things are progressing for both of them separately.
3. The Victoria arc in S1 is the section of episodes I rewatch the most. I don't know if that's an unpopular thing to do or not, but I have a feeling it is.
4. I though the show became predictably formulaic and not funny in S3. And I even found Marshal unlikeable which is SO NOT OKAY. Thankfully S4 completely redeemed all of that.
But I never watched Alias! I used to tune in now and then because I thought Vartan was hot before I decided he was too skinny. When I did watch it I found it confusing and cheesy. And, I mean, I KNOW, I watch SPN! That's just my lowly unpopular opinion. I have always thought I'd like Will, but I've never seen any of his episodes that's based only on thin air and Bradley Cooper.
Oh man, my only complaint about Arrested Development is that I've seen all the episodes too many times and there aren't any more! That and I didn't find Charlize Theron funny AT ALL, but I'm pretty sure that was a popular opinion.
Oh! And the movie! All this hinting at a movie + rumours of Micheal Cera drama are turning me off big time. I don't want to hear a single thing about it again until it's actually in the process of being filmed.
