I can't believe this is overshadowing that episode of The Office BUT IT TOTALLY IS.
And, god, the way they played up Sam as the MotW!!! I knew he was going to be the MotW, but the way they handled it was pure fucking genius.
I didn't love the last scene, but Dean made up for it with his little insight at the very end there.
I just love how that was like a taste of everything we thought the final episodes leading up the finale would be, now I really don't know where the hell the finale is going to take us. And how awesome is it that this episode didn't actually resolve any of the overall story arc issues at all, and yet it wasn't like those episodes that have a big fake out at the end and leave you feeling like the whole thing was a complete waste of your time that you never ever want to see again? FUCK!
AND SAM SHOT DEAN! Though it's maybe a bit silly that he didn't manage to kill Dean, considering the shot he had, but whatever. I'll give them that one considering the other option is, you know, Dean being dead.
And Bobby at the end letting the boys go! They've foreshadowed this whole hunters against the boys issue before, but now I'm REALLY starting to worry about it. I mean, it's even worse for them to have hunters after them than it is for them to have the FBI after them! Speaking of which? I really love that we didn't resolve the FBI issue immediately. Clearly that one's around for the long haul, which was exactly what I'd wanted.
Also another thing I can't believe I didn't mention? Meg breaking free! How fucking crazy awesome was it that she got smart and totally twarted Dean and Bobby? Because they couldn't just end it with a simple boring exorcism. Well, they could have, but I'd have cried foul quite a bit, whereas now I'm JUST HAPPY.
