i decided that each and every day i will take a walk around my neighborhood, to clear my mind, and so that i can people watch, which is one of my all time favorite activities. so i took my walk today down bleecker street and stopped in at joe's discorama to get the Thievery Corporation Cd--The Richest Man in Babylon. which is excellent. its a blend of rhythms and sounds from virtually every corner of the world (lots of sitar!) ...with some vocals now and then in english and french. i highly recommend. i also found this Beatles compilation CD which looked great--about 20 of my favorite songs, for 9$. the songs are divided up into sections--"Help Me" "Please Me" "Love Me" "Drive Me" and "The Window." although it was undoubtedly bizarre, i didnt really study it too carefully, i just bought it. i got home, put in it in my CD player and....ITS NOT THE BEATLES! its "Dr. Fink and his band." imitation Beatles?! i feel like the victim of a scam--NOWHERE on the cover does it state that the CD i purchased was not the real Beatles. I mean, i should have known since the cover is quite bootleg and it only cost me 9 bucks instead of the usual 16 or so...but STILL. there needs to be a disclaimer somewhere....
if i wanted imitation Beatles, all i'd have to do is walk into my bro's room to hear him attempting to play Dear Prudence and the like..... he's actually getting quite good. better than Dr. Fink.
