Adverse Reaction

So I was standing just outside the laundry room this afternoon with my hands above my head on the door frame. Mom went to poke me and so I backed up and almost stepped on the dog. I grabbed onto the bathroom door frame and laundry room door frame to keep from falling or stepping on her. Mom came out of the laundry room and went to close the door. Unfortunately, my middle finger was in between the door and the door frame where the hinges are. I told myself that it was an accident and I was okay and that my finger just hurt, but my body reacted very badly. I immediately burst into tears and Mom hugged me to her. I started to try and curl into a ball and cradle my hand. Then Mom took me to run it under cold water to try and make it feel better. I suddenly started feeling dizzy and nauseous and like I was going to pass out. I had to lie on the couch sort of curled up for a while as I tried to calm down. All this time tears are streaming down my face and I feel really bad for my mom because it was obviously an accident. Now I don't know what's normal, but I'm going to say, based on observation of others when that happens, that nearly passing out is not a normal reaction. Did this ever happen to anyone else? I will say that the finger looks much better now. It has just a pale purple spot instead of the dark black it was before.
