[Unemployment] Still Searching
I know I have not updated in a while on this matter, but my job hunt does continue. I have a bunch of job bids that I will be taking over to the University of Michigan today thanks to Don since my car is still being worked on. This will bring my total of positions applied for at UMich to seven since I turned the application in a few weeks ago. I had to do a rush job on writing my cover letter (I hate writing those things!) because I glanced at one of the postings I printed up and discovered that the listing expires today and it is for a position that I easily qualify for so I could not just say "fuck it" and not turn in a bid.
I have also been working on building my skill repertoire. Thanks to a no-nonsense site, I was able to set up a working server environment on my laptop which now gives me the ability to write web pages using PHP, MySQL Databases, and Perl CGI. This allowed me to also install Movable Type which is a sister product to LiveJournal so I can implement that system for blogs and such on other sites. Since it is all on my laptop, I can go ahead and take my development efforts anywhere which is good since one thing I have to do is just get out of my apartment at times since there have been times I do not even leave my bedroom let alone go out the door.
