February Update!

Well my news is not exciting but Greg has exciting news, he has just taken a job in Events at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre. This was the olympic equestrian venue and is a really great place. It's a bout a half hour drive for him and he will have to work some weekends, but it's a government job so there are really great benefits. It's also full time - whereas now he is on contract. This means he will actually get paid for sick leave and holiday leave and all of those things that you take for granted until you don't have them. I'm thinking it's pretty cool because I'm hoping I will get to go to lots of horsey events. I'm not naive enough to think they would let me ride my horses there. But they have this amazing galloping track which is all fully fenced so your horse can't get away from you. I would love to get Indi out there. Anyway Greg is so excited and I think he will be brilliant at this job. I'm very proud of him.

The horses are doing well. We rode yesterday - I rode Toby and he is perfect as usual. I was experimenting a little and I had a rope tied around his neck and chest. I just dropped the reins and was able to ride him, including stopping, starting and steering purely with this rope. He's just unbeievable. Greg rode Indi for a while and it was the first time I did not have to get on him afterwards to "kick his ass" so to speak. So I think he's making progress.

Hmm in other news, I finally got to catch up with Morgan the other day - it's been way too long. I really miss him and have these moments where I still can't believe I just can't walk into his office and complain about Mitch....or laugh about Bill. And it's been way too long since fajitas and margaritas. There was this time we got sent off for a training course in Traverse City..anyway the course was so badly run and so boring that we skipped out at lunchtime and went to Mongolian BBQ. We loved this place. So went spent the afternoon stuffing ourselves and then eating a giant brownie fudge sundae. It was awesome. All work days should be like that. Fortuntely Morgan had the presence of mind to steal the certificates before we left. I feel like I can tell this story because it's nothing that's actually in my resume. So it's all good. Those were the days!

I think that's about all from this end right now. Oh one more thing - we went to the Bull riding on Saturday night - which was fun. I like this and the bull almost always wins. Anyway there was this woman there with her son on a shoulders, he could not have been as old as 2. I am not lying when I tell you that his baby bottle, was filled with coke. What the hell is that all about? Can you believe that?

Anyway that's my ranty. Talk to you all soon I hope!
BJ
