If this were the only trouble I had in life, I would never be unhappy.

Got to the theatre around 10:20, this morning, as I was supposed to meet Dewayne there at half-after, to learn the choreography for the dance portion of the audition. I had gotten my shift covered (at Starbucks) to help Dewayne out with the groups of thirty-something that come through. It turned out to be groups of ten, and I only got through three, because around 1:40, I received a text from the person who said they'd cover my 1:45 shift, telling me that they couldn't do it. I had to stop and teach Meghan the end of the piece, so she could take over for me, kissed Dewayne and Steven goodbye, and flew to work. I was actually only fifteen minutes late (what's a speed limit?), and worked the rest of my shift, but I thought it looked poorly upon my reliability to have had to leave so suddenly.

Needless to say, I was frustrated. I mean, I'd walked away with callbacks for each, but I'd only been asked to grab sides for Fame... not 42nd Street. I tried not to let it bother me.

But sometime during the course of the night, a number I didn't know, called and left a message on my phone. I was just-now able to check it, and it was Steven, saying that he'd like to speak to me, tomorrow, about Peggy!

The thing is--as Dewayne explained to me--the Apple wants me for at least Can Can and Chicago, but Can Can directly conflicts with rehearsals for both Cats (Dewayne wants me for Victoria), and 42nd Street. Roberta was offering to Dewayne the option of having me do both Cats and Can Can, and just find a swing for me for the last few weeks of Can Can, when Cats opens. The thing is, Victoria is such an involved character in the show, that Dewayne wouldn't feel comfortable with me switching out of rehearsals like that. He also understands that the Apple pays, and that I would get points towards my Equity card.

My new  thought process is playing off of the realization that Peggy isn't really in an incredible amount of group numbers in 42nd Street (I remember a lot of sitting in the wings, watching the "cute" numbers go by without me), so maybe--just maybe--I would be allowed to swing both.

That is, if I'm really being offered Peggy...
