#32 Christina Aguilera : Ain't No Other Man
"You got soul, you got class, you got style, shake your bad ass"
Not having purchased "Back To Basic" myself, I can't judge whether her double disc release lived up to the promise of creating an updated retro style. First single "Ain't No Other Man" did the trick and ticked the right boxes to score a hit. It was retro, catchy and foghorn-bazooka-tastic.
I'm still not convinced Christina has that much impact on the music she's recording. During interviews she doesn't sound one bit more interesting than her teen queen rival #1 from back in the day Britney Spears. During live performance she brings more spark to the stage than other big voiced divas and seems to rely less on a fully prepared dance routine (I think she gave up on trying that after failing to master the "Come On Over" dancing). Her improvising usually ends up with showing off her vocal range, but it's better than the same show over and over again like Spears does on her tours.
