Sand-filled winds by the sea
I learned today that another of my dad's friends died of cancer.
Last time I saw him he was so alive. He was getting better. His hair was growing back. Now, I'm being asked to write something in his memory. We weren't close, but I'd known him off and on since I was 7; and it troubles me.
And then it reminds me of Coral, who's so full of vitality and life, a bright shining beacon that always manages to make you smile. And I think, please, not her.
Enough sad talk, I'm going to splurge on fanfics and fanvids. Something with a happy ending.
