Nobody Knows is a Japanese movie produced in 2003 and the leading actor (Yuya Yagira; 14-years old at that time) won the best actor at the Cannes Film Festival.  This trailer doesn't really show the essence of this movie btw.   I wanted to see this movie for a long time and finally I did.  It's about four children abandoned by their mother in Tokyo trying to survive without money after water, gas and electricity have been cut off.  It's based on a true story, which is actually much worse than the movie.

I often think that if we all care about kids more in our own neighborhood, those tragic events could be avoided.  Like, if 50 families donate 1,000 yen (approx. USD9.0) per month to support one family who cannot raise children properly, maybe it pays at least food and some other essentials in life.  But nowadays people keep distance from others and don't want to get involved with those things.  But kids cannot choose their parents.  It's just sad.
