Interesting, so breaking through could be breaking out. The subject of this piece seems to be stranded, perhaps facing the fears and letting the cracks open were what was needed. Hadn't thought of it that way, but then things like this are meant to be seen different ways by different people.
This reminds me of how the Death card represents change, and that it can often be for the better.

And since my mother is one of my few concerns in my life (and very socially conscious) my decisions do resonate with her.
