The further adventures of Doug and Carlotta

(Who? Origin here)

Had a good Memorial Day weekend, managing to mostly ignore a certain race, instead going out to lunch that Saturday with veronica_rich  and dahlianna , during which it was decided that the_dark_snack  and I would spend the day as our aliases, Doug and Carlotta (whom we had suspected had been taken in the May 21 Rapture, but since it didn't happen after all...).

That afternoon, we four went to the "Yelp500" hosted by the Big Car arts organization (via yelp.com). There was free beer and mead, free food, music, burlesque, and when we signed in, we put "Doug" and "Carlotta" on our nametags. The people we ran into who knew us as John and Gwen were quite amused. Doug had a blast, and I think Carlotta enjoyed herself as well. They later went to the birthday/gaming party hosted by katmandu07  and played Telestrations and talked until way after midnight.

This last weekend, our only theatre outing was a local production of "Frankenstein: A New Musical." Not sure how this would be, we decided to send Doug and Carlotta. Carlotta thought it wasn't the worst she had seen, and the cast was doing as best they could, but the script needed more time in the lab. Doug was advised that this play would be done like a serious dramatic musical (a la "Les Mis," "Ragtime" or "Titanic") but noted there were a couple of unintended chuckle moments. The Creature has a beautiful baritone, though.

Am now realizing that referring to our alter egos as "D&C" for short doesn't really look right. Hmm...

Anyway, our intrepid pair might be seen out on the town again before long. Another community theatre is staging "Avenue Q" =D
