Call me Lucky

If, a decade or more ago, you had asked John what animal he identified with, what he considered his "totem," he would have said eagle or maybe wolf. But that's not what he was asked roughly 10 years ago.

He was asked what manner of monkey he considered himself. After all, as a charter member of the now-dormant PaperMonkies online gang, he should ( Read more... )

I've been "beldar" roughly since 1984. Unless you're referring to Lucky, in which case you can have that, I guess.

I like your LJ-name. Fits you. =)

Oh, well I hope that you've grabbed it up all over the place. I once had a post up on a name that I really liked, and someone took the website from me, which I've always secretly thought was because they saw my name in a permanent chat room that I created back when AOL was the chat room place to be. Luckily, I was able to scoop up the domain after a time and I registered that shit for like 10 years.

I haven't insisted on securing the name "beldar" for two reasons -- 1) already a trademark of the SNL people, and 2) is the online screen name of a popular politically conservative blogger. I've started going by IndyBeldar (cuz I live in Indy) on other sites, and publishing stuff under my real name (cuz, after all, it's *mine*). If/when I get a domain all to myself it'll have a distinctive name -- maybe even Lucky Lemur if that's available.

Ah okay gottcha...although I've always wanted to grab either my nickname or full name web address, but the full name's for sale at $800 and the nick name the guy seems to have abandoned it and doesn't respond to emails. Then the only other issue though, would be to secure the names with an "s" at the end because people tend to automatically add it to my last name. Of course, there's not really a point to having my own web address, but it would still be cool.
