Going with the conventional wisdom last week didn't pay off as upsets and bad picks had me 7-7 on the NFL slate. My season-so-far record is 43-30, and here we go with picks for Sunday and Monday's pro football games. Straight-up-no-spread, my picks in ALL CAPS:
-CHICAGO at Atlanta (wasn't sure on this since Falcons don't suck this year, waited until the last moment to commit to this)
-Miami at HOUSTON (Fins are favored, but the Texans are due)
-Detroit at MINNESOTA
-Oakland at NEW ORLEANS
-St. Louis at WASHINGTON
-Cincinnati at NY JETS
-Baltimore at INDIANAPOLIS (Indy is actually the underdog here, but we need a win in the new stadium)
-CAROLINA at Tampa Bay (tempting fate, I know)
-Jacksonville at DENVER
-GREEN BAY at Seattle (could regret this one, too)
-DALLAS at Arizona (has "upset" written all over it, but I won't take the bait)
-PHILADELPHIA at San Francisco
-New England at SAN DIEGO (two great teams flirting with mediocrity -- like the Colts -- so advantage home team)
-NY GIANTS at Cleveland
