There's no way I'm going to get around to posting every day, so here are the first fifteen days of
hestia8's meme. I have been avoiding Spooks since series 9 but I feel like a trip down memory lane. Also, in celebration of the fact that although my Yuletide story still has zero words, it now has a plot idea. \o

01. Favourite episode?
I did like the EERIE one but I also love Jo's intro episode. Oh and the Angela Wells one. OH and the mystery bleeding disease one where we lose Zaf. Hm.
02. When did you start watching?
About series 4, then I did a rapid backtrack and inhaled S1-3 from the DVDs.
03. Favourite guest star?
"Hugh Laurie obviously" ME TOO ME TOO
04. Favourite female character?
Jo. I can't imagine any of you are surprised by this.
05. Least favourite female character?
Fiona. So smug! So headmistressy! So bizarrely irrational at the end! Also, least likely wife for Adam ever.
06. Favourite location?
All those moody windswept southbank locations where Harry meets people whilst wearing his unlikely velvet collared overcoat.
07. Best exit?
I liked Adam's. It was cheesy in a cinematic sort of way and so appropriate. Most emotive exit was Danny's though. Most fabulously dramatic was Connie's.
08. Worst exit?
OK belantana, I know Zaf was miserably neglected BUT it was the most fic-inspiring, loose-endish, imagine-the-worst-you-possibly-can sort of exit and so I have to reluctantly say it was quite clever. I didn't like Tom's ending, I never bought it, and I thought Jo's was a bit arbitrary too.
09. Favourite baddie?
Oh hmm they all start to merge into one after a while. Angela Wells was quite pleasingly insane.
10. Least favourite baddie?
The stupid south african man who bought the whole "we want to buy a thermobaric bomb' spiel from Adam and Jo. I don't know why. He was such a caricature. The bombs! The misogyny! The dodgy accent! Isn't one sin enough?
11. Favourite male character?
It's a play off between Zaf and Adam bcause they could both produce a spot of comedy when required. On screen together = fabulous.
12. Least favourite male character?
Lucas. He's just never done it for me and gosh, his voice is irritating. Sounds like permanent laryngitis.
13. Favourite couple?
Again, nobody will be surprised that this is Jo/Zaf. Who knows if this was actually canon, it is so firmly stuck in my head that I can't remove it any more!
14. Favourite quote?
I can never remember quotes but I think I love everything Malcolm's ever said.
15. Tom, Adam, Lucas: who would win in a fight? I suspect Lucas - he'd certainly fight dirtiest. Adam might outwit him at the last moment though...

Your answers I already knew for the most part, but I am surprised you liked the zombie disease ep (I must rewatch it actually - I'd probably enjoy it much more now). I'm also surprised you liked Zaf's exit! I can believe that you went for the heroic self-sacrifice part, and the ambiguous ending part, but what about the entire year in between when everyone completely forgot about him? Surely that tips it over into Worst Exit Ever.
Anyway, it is stupid o'clock and I really, really have to finish my Yuletide story tonight. Happy Christmas, if I don't get to posting again before then!

The thing about the zombie disease episode was essentially that it is SO CLOSE to my fantasy perfect episode (which is essentially 12 days only with less obvious plot, a cooler disease, more action scenes and I suppose they would have to save the day somehow) that I had to sort of love it. And Zaf was heroic. They got the disease totally wrong obviously and it was all madly implausible but I don't watch it for the realism... (although they will have HAVE to have a wikileaks plot next season)
eh, Zaf's death. He was a hero. I love that bit where Adam says something like 'the next pint's on me' just before he leaves him to his eventual death. It gave me so many fic ideas. And they did do the whole letters-scratched-on-his-corpse thing and it was in short just about tolerable until Jo went and slept with someone else. So I'm reserving judgement.
Looking forward to reading your yuletide story from the lazy position of one who did not sign up! Have a very merry Christmas!

I cannot of course complain that it gave you so many fic ideas. :D
If there's a wikileaks episode I *might* have to watch next series, but as it stands I am pretty uninterested in doing so. Did you even see any of series 9? There was one really great episode, about China, can't remember if it was 9.04 or 9.06, where Ruth and the new kids were unrelentingly awesome and the storyline came together really well. Don't know what happened after that.
