Hi everyone, I am officially up-to-date with Life. \o/

The first scene of the finale was one of my favourite scenes ever. The documentary-makers suddenly coming in to the plot and Nevikov shooting them!! oh my. (They were clearly incredibly stupid documentary-makers to be visiting the Baddest Bad Guy ever and asking him why he wasn't in prison, but still, you know, they died in the pursuit of recording the truth, or something? And was I the only person who imagined them to be Ted's daughter's friends?)

Nevikov taking the camera and all that jumpy footage down the stairs, and the creepy music, and then how it cut off just as Reese started to speak, that was brilliant, brilliant television.

Actually, beginning with the documentary-makers, all the shooting in this episode really freaked me out. I suppose because so much of it didn't have build-up - I mean there was no "but now it is time for you to die" dialogue, there was just people doing stuff and then one of them pulls out a gun and calmly shoots the others and no one makes a sound. The scene in the FBI especially was unsettling.

As for the actual finale? I don't know. It felt very rushed, and to be honest, I didn't really understand any of the Raybourne stuff. He was lining up Crews to take his place as Nevikov's cop-on-the-inside, is that right? Why does Nevikov care so much about owning an LAPD cop when he seems to own half the FBI? And the reaction of the gangsters in the car when Crews kills Nevikov was so very trite. Surely not all of Nevikov's boys were only on-side because he threatened their families. And surely there was a second-in-command they could impress by bringing back Crews' body.

On balance, though, I did enjoy it very much. I loved everyone coming together to help Crews and Reese - Stark and Seever, Bodner and Tidwell, Ted and that awesome English spy lady - and I loved Tidwell's barely-restrained panic about Reese. Also, there are still holes in the wall-of-crazy! Who were the six which became five which could easily become four? They were the cops in the Bank of LA heist, weren't they? HELLO, THERE'S STILL PLOT HERE, THIRD SERIES PLS.

Upon the tenuous link of the FBI connection, I now really, really want to write fic with George Blake from the State Within. To which end I am compiling a list of questions I need you good people to answer before I can even begin to attempt it.
