Flying vs Driving

So, the Atlanta trip gets a little closer every day. It's confirmed I'm leaving Austin alone - two people are planning their wedding, one simply cannot afford it and the other needs to conserve funds, despite his wanting to go. And that's absolutely fine with me :) My momma wants to meet me there and that's absolutely fine with me too. Either way, I'm going. I'm not backing out. This trip is happening.
So, since April is just a couple of weeks away (and it's the month that provides the paycheck for said journey), I need to start working on specifics. I've found a bunch of hotels in the area and plane tickets start at about $270. But then something else occurred me - it's only about a 16 hour drive. I can make that, easy. And it would take maybe 4 tanks of gas each way, so just over $200 round trip...

Flying Pros:
A lot less time en route = more time to goof off
No worries about getting tired on the way
I love flying
Less time off work

Flying Cons:
Booking the flight at the airline's mercy (might get there at 6pm the day I want to arrive and have to leave at 7am the day I have to come home)
No car
Locating a hotel with easy access/understandable public transportation to both the airport and the aquarium
My bags

Driving Pros:
I'll have a car while I'm there
I can get a hotel near the aquarium, regardless of the distance to the airport
A 16 hour drive through 4.5 states, along the coast (I mean, just look at that map)
I'll have an extra day or two if I want to see something else in Atlanta or just take a day to do jack
Windows down, 70 MPH in early June

Driving Cons:
Potentially getting tired on the road and having to stop at some hotel somewhere
A week off work instead of just a few days
Looking at a long, long drive on the way home (sure the drive there is exciting, but the drive back is always tiring)
Temptation to smoke in my car on the way out and back

And I'm sure there are other pros and cons for both that I won't think of until I'm halfway there using one method or the other lol. So... The flying (which always make me uber happy) or something like this:

In any case, I'm super excited. And this won't change the fact that I'm going to spend my 25th at the biggest aquarium in the world. This is so happening, one way or another.
