1 - I'm in MD for the week. Got here on the 2nd, flying back out on the 8th. Having a good time so far with family and friends and doing a lot of stuff. Send me a text if you want a present from the trip ;-)
2 - Looks like Obama's the new president. Hot damn. Now, granted not every vote has been turned in (and we all remember the joy that was the 2000 election with all those dumbass predictions), but this looks pretty clear. I just hate (and always have, honestly) the way our voting system works. The fucking "popular" and "electoral" votes can suck my non existent balls. To put it simply, let's say there are three people in all of Texas. I vote Obama, the other 2 vote McCain. The state goes McCain and he gets the votes, while the vote I cast literally did not count. Sure, in the end they'll say x number voted for ass 1 and x number voted for ass 2, but the electorals are what counts and that makes it so that every vote does not count. Fix that some day and maybe more voters will turn out. Just saying.... Finally:
3 - Prop 8 in California. I was really interested to find out what happened there. So I've done a little web searching. Everything I can find on prop 8 says "too close to call: 47% for it, 50% against" and blah blah... how is that "too close"?? Read the fucking votes! 1 and 2 are really close together, but we know which one is higher for shit sake!
K, I'm done now. Hope everyone voted and gets what they need: The gays can frolic with their marriage certificates while people shoot their unrestricted guns and healthcare is passed out with tax cuts. And we stop killing babies. You know, the utopian America everyone can agree on (insert eye-rolling and sarcasm here)
