Summer's coming to an abrupt end

This week was the LAST week at the ol' internship. It was a pretty hectic week, if I do say so myself. Wednesday we shadowed an attorney for a defense firm around for a few hours in the morning. She was super nice and super excited to have Nate and I at their office. She gave us her business card and insisted that we keep in touch and stop by again. I plan on doing all of the above. Thursday was our last day. The day started out kinda slow... me just finishing up a decision (which, by the way, is still not quite done and I told Carol I would finish it up and email it to her). Then it got crazy because we had to fill out evals (about ourselves, which I absolutely loathe doing because I'm modest and don't want to make myself sound like I'm so great, and about the program) and we had to put together a portfolio of all the work we did that summer. We also went out to lunch with a few judges, and that was a lot of fun. I also received about four offers from judges to write me recommendations in the future when I need them. That's so awesome! Hello law school applications? Yeah, you'll be receiving a recommendation for the chief administrative law judge...

Yesterday was kind of a lazy day for awhile. Around 5, Sarah and I (and Natalie...) went to Luke's house to hang out with a bunch of people. That was fun, we played Mall Madness and the Wii. Then Alyssa boob called and I went to hang out with her for awhile. She and I ultimately ended up back here and watched Scrooged. Yeah, HBO has been playing a lot of Christmas movies lately.

Today is kind of a lazy day. It's chilly (only 59F) and rainy. I need to go to Target or some place and buy a pack of thank you cards for some of the judges in the office that let me do work for them.

As for this update's countdown: Two more weeks until he gets back, two weeks and a day until I get to see him... unless he changes his mind and decides to come see me the day he gets back, which I doubt because that would be WAY too much traveling in a day.
