Ohno's steps were slightly dragging as he made his way home from the studio. The atmosphere had been close to grim today - the threat of cancellation was hanging thick and they all were feeling it. So far, no final word had come down. In fact, no word at ALL had come down which was possibly more worrying than anything. Having other shows cancelled with barely any notice was something that hadn't really been seen in the soap world to date. Some of the veterans were talking, and Ohno really wasn't liking what he was hearing.
The shows that had been canned were mostly cast and based around magicals.
A slight shiver shot down Ohno's spine at the thought. It hadn't come to light yet that Ohno was a merfolk, at least not to the viewership. The staff knew, of course, but the plot line that had originally been worked had been scrapped completely the past week. Not even a hint of it was to be made, at all. Ohno knew the paranoia was unfounded - why would a show be cancelled just because of being magically based? There hadn't been any real stigmas towards magicals in years that Ohno knew of. Granted, he'd lived in big cities where things were tolerated at a different level than rural areas, but soap operas? Really?
Ohno sighed.
Coming up to his building, he shrugged his bag higher and took the steps two at a time. He needed to be home.
