Well... crap

I haven't quite hit the 30-day mark for the first side (left) of the injections (my appt was on the 9th, so I have less than a week to go), and I'm starting to wonder if the advice I got from the physical therapist (that I liked so much) at the very beginning of all this was bad advice. You see, back when all this began...

{Insert blurry segue to a dream-like sequence of the past here}

After an initial visit w/my family doc reporting that I was having awful back pains when I stood up for too long and sometimes when I woke up, I started seeing a physical therapist. A few weeks went by A-OK, then we tried to progress to the next step of the exercises, and I was still experiencing the pain, then the pain got worse, and I had a few PT visits where all I could do was be hooked up to the electrical machine thingie because I was hurting so bad.

Well, when I didn't seem to be progressing, my PT (whom I really, really liked... and trusted) said she recommended I get an MRI to see what else might be wrong and causing me not to progress.

Well, MRI showed much the same as x-ray, etc., had shown, but in more detail - I had arthritis and degeneration at certain spots in my lumbar spine. Their recommendation was that I go to the Pain Center, and so I went...

{Insert blurry segue back to present}

And, here we are FIVE MONTHS later, and I'm not feeling any better (and actually am worse in some areas because I haven't been exercising my back b/c it hurts), and I've racked up all these bills at the Pain Center and an MRI and blah, blah, blah, and nothin'... a big, fat ZERO.

I'm frustrated. What if that first bit of advice wasn't sound? What if I just needed to "push through" or something? Or do the PT stuff more slowly? Or something. Dammit.

I know, Tom's response will be that I need to wait the full 30 days, but I know what I'm feeling, and it ain't relief. *sigh*

TG it's Friday and Date Night tonight. And, a long weekend. Let's enjoy it and try not to think about all this, shall we? Yes, we shall. Have a great weekend, Everybody!
