Calluses from Fire
So this came to me last night while I was sitting in my living room surrounded by candles and no electricity. I don't really know if it's an actual tried and true method, or if the people I mention actually used it. Anyways it's been too quiet around here lately; and I figured we could use a jump-start.
"Wyatt, what the hell? Are you trying to set yourself on fire?" Ambrose asked entering the storage space they rented for practice. Knowing Wyatt it was probably some sacrificial rite to the music gods. He was just running his fingers through the flame. It was a little disconcerting.
"No, I read it in a guitar magazine a while ago. It's the best way to force calluses on your fingers. You have to burn them in." They had only decided to start a band together recently and never having played before Wyatt was killing his fingers. Then he'd remembered the article that said that Jimi Hendrix, and Jim Morrison, and all the best guitarists did it.
"Well that's all fine and good, but seriously when you catch your hand on fire don't expect me to do more then stand here and laugh at you. If you do serious damage we won't be able to play Dora's party next weekend. And she'd kick your ass for that." Ambrose smirked at the lovesick look that crossed his friends face.
"I'll be fine for Dora's party. Just don't tell her what I'm doing. She'd probably kill me herself. She worries too much." Wyatt said shooting a dark look at Ambrose. It was to be their first 'paying gig'. Adora Stewart was having a blow-out of a birthday party and her father had allowed her to 'hire' Wyatt's band for the event.
