Duuuuuuude....EARTHQUAKE!!!!! Not even kidding. K so it was only a 5.2....and I was about 90 miles from the
epicenter...but it still woke me up.
Well actually I was semi-awake (insomnia cycle) and caught the tail end of it (Mom says it lasted at least 30 seconds) but I seriously just thought it was a big truck going by or my own "tremors" (sometimes when I'm half asleep/awake my body shakes hard enough it makes it feel like my bed is shaking...and is probably a sign of serious neurological issues....). But Mom came knocking on my door "We had an earthquake!" I swear to Buddha she was running around like a kid in the candy store. I stumbled out of bed to watch the news with her and she's jumping up and down talking about how she heard it coming and how long it shook and how they said there's a 99% chance California is going to get hit by a major earthquake in the next 30 years.
:/
That's the face she got for that one. I was like "Mom...we live in Indiana....completely different fault system." Her response was "Well they're all connected." I may've just rolled my eyes and gone back to bed. 5:38's too early for me to even care about a natural semi-disaster.
So yeah...it's kind of sad that that's the most excitement I've had in awhile. Not the earthquake so much, just watching my mom act like a little kid.
ETA:As soon as I hit the "post" button"....we got an aftershock. Only ten seconds...but I'm sitting under an unstable ceiling fan...and it was slightly nerve-racking. But way cool!
