According to my best estimate (based on experience), as long as the outdoor temperature remains below 95 degrees the back bedroom should stay cool enough that I will remain pretty deeply asleep. The problem: we're not staying below 95 much of late. Normally I sleep so deeply that I'm really hard to wake up. I hate sleeping lightly, and I blame summertime blistering heat. It's not even that the bedroom gets hot- it just gets a little warm and stuffy, and before you know it I'm tossing and turning and not sleeping well, even when exhausted.
Tonight at work is going to suck. My husband is also going to worry he woke me up (he didn't), so it's going to suck for him too now- which makes me even crankier at the weather for making him worry.
But let's end this on a positive note. We do have air conditioning, it does work, the AC hasn't frozen even once this summer (so far), and our couch is right under a vent (very, very comfortable!).
Also, I have read multiple fun books lately, some new and others re-reads, but it is still encouraging.
EDIT: Ask and ye shall receive! A coworker called and asked if she could have my Saturday night. If I can make it through tonight I am home free, and this means I don't have to get off work Sunday morning and not sleep until after noon, and even then only for a couple of hours. That, in turn, means I will not be exhausted on Sunday, which THEN means that after the afternoon obligation, we can leave town for my birthday and I will actually be able to be awake and alert! WOOT! *does a happy dance*
