I'm not really sure if anyone else cares about any of this but now that I'm in the industry this stuff seems so much cooler.
First off, Audiovox has managed to squeez a 1.0 megapixel digital camera into a clam-shell flip phone with a 260,000 color TFT display. The phone weighs just 3.2 ounces! The bad part is it's only CDMA so it'll never be a T-Mobile phone. Any Verizon users out there will difinately wanna keep there eyes open for this.
Second, ATI, yes the same ATI that makes the famous Raedeon graphics cards, has created a 3D graphics chipset for cell phones. The Imageon 2300 will make mutimedia and gaming a standard on any cell phone equipped with it. The chipset will enable phones to playback MPEG video at 30 frames per second, almost VHS quality. It'll also make it possible to have 2.0 megapixel cameras that can capture video, and run two color displays. Not to mention that with the 3D graphics accelerator you'll be able to play much better games than whats available right now. Mixing this chipset with Toshiba's new 2-3gig cell phone hard drive the possibilities are huge!!
I'm sorry but technology is probably the coolest thing in the world!!
