Go hiking, of course!
I tried to go to Lake Dorothy last week, but I got my car stuck on a snow covered debris field (created from a creek washing over the road).
This time, I decided to not go into the Cascades, but instead pick a trail that is on the outermost edge of the mountains.
Lake Serene met that criteria.
The parking lot is only a fraction of a mile off the main highway, and there was only a tiny trace of snow around.
The trail had snow where it wasn't sheltered by trees, and the stuff was icy and had water on it, making it tricky to walk confidently. Fortunately, I had my trekking poles, and they saved my ass from falling several times. Don't leave home without them!
Higher up, a picture of an icy creek washing over frozen rocks.
A series of photos stitched together to provide a wide-angle view of the lake.
